Oilers acquire Kellan Lain from Canucks for Will Acton

Anne-Marie Sorvin / USA TODAY Sports

The Edmonton Oilers announced the acquisition of center Kellan Lain from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for forward Will Acton.

The minor trade also includes an AHL component:

Lain and Acton are both on two-way NHL contracts, while Holmberg – who led the WHL in scoring last season – is on an AHL contract and would have to be signed to an NHL deal in order to be called up to 'the show.' Holmberg will not count against Vancouver's 50 stand player's contract limit.
