VIDEO: Flyers' Mason bumped by teammate, says 'head hurt a little'

Adam Hunger / USA TODAY Sports

Steve Mason took a bump from an unexpected source during Wednesday's loss to the New York Rangers.

Out of his crease to play the puck, the Philadelphia Flyers goaltender was bumped in the head by defenseman Braydon Coburn, who was unable to avoid Mason behind the net.

Mason remained in the game and stopped all seven shots against in the third period, but admitted to feeling the effects of the collision, which could be an issue based on his concussion history.

Mason made 32 saves in the loss and has posted a .940 save percentage over his past five starts.

The Flyers play the second of a back-to-back Thursday against the Minnesota Wild - a game Ray Emery was likely to start in any case. Mason's condition bears watching, however, as concussion symptoms can appear in the days following such an incident.
