Coach Lindy Ruff seemed to suggest Tuesday that Eaves was ready to play, but he ended up sitting out that evening's game against the Hurricanes for precautionary purposes. After serving largely in a fourth-line role for the Red Wings and Predators the last few seasons, the 30-year-old has surprisingly seen occasional duty in the Stars' top six this season. He's produced two goals and five points over his 13 games.
