NHL Game Summary - Tampa Bay at NY Islanders

Uniondale, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Cal Clutterbuck, Mikhail Grabovski and Ryan Strome tallied in the second period to turn around a tie game, leading the Islanders to a 5-2 decision over Tampa Bay at Nassau Coliseum.

Brock Nelson and Casey Cizikas also lit the lamp for the Islanders, who have won six of their last seven and avenged a 5-2 loss in Tampa on Saturday.

"I think we did a good job of digging in and ramming our game down their throats," said Clutterbuck.

Kyle Okposo and Frans Nielsen each contributed two assists while Jaroslav Halak came up with 26 saves.

Alex Killorn and Ondrej Palat scored for the Lightning, who have dropped three of five. Evgeni Nabokov took the loss against his former team by allowing all five goals on 36 shots.

"We fought back and had some good chances coming back in the game," Lightning defenseman Anton Stralman said. "It didn't work for us tonight."

Palat was booked for hooking with six seconds remaining in the second, and the hosts boosted their lead to 4-1 after 36 seconds elapsed in the third on Nelson's tip-in of a Lubomir Visnovsky point drive.

Palat atoned with his fifth goal of the season at 2:14 which pulled the Bolts within two, but Cizikas put the game away for New York on his breakaway shot at the 8:55 mark.

New York failed to click on all three phases of a power play which included 1:07 of 5-on-3 early in the first period.

Tampa then scored on its third shot of the game, with 8:07 remaining, when Killorn managed to slide a shot through Halak's pads from along the goal line.

The Isles tied the score when Clutterbuck put one past Nabokov from the right circle at the 39-second mark and less than a minute of game time since Thomas Hickey was sent off for interference.

It was 2-1 for the hosts at 12:23 on Grabovski's one-timer, then Strome extended the lead to two just 63 seconds later when he fired through a Josh Bailey screen.
