VIDEO: Lightning's Stamkos finds top corner from sharp angle on power play

Kim Klement / USA Today

No corner of the net is safe when Steven Stamkos is on the ice.

The Tampa Bay Lightning captain improved his goals total to eight on the season with a pair against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, including this improbable power-play tally.

Stamkos set up Valtteri Filppula with a cross-ice pass, but Filppula missed an open net opportunity. The puck was eventually cycled back to Stamkos, who unloaded a wrist shot from below the left faceoff dot into a tiny opening above Ray Emery's right shoulder.

The goal gave the Lightning a 2-1 lead late in the second period. Stamkos scored again early in the third and assisted on Jason Garrison's game-winning goal.
