Flyers' Ray Emery to start 4th straight game Thursday vs. Lightning

OK, so we might legitimately have a goaltending controversy in Philadelphia.

On Thursday night, ostensible Flyers backup goaltender Ray Emery will make his fourth consecutive start, and his fifth in the past six games, when the Flyers visit the Tampa Bay Lightning:

Flyers head coach Craig Berube told reporters following Philadelphia's victory over the Los Angeles Kings earlier this week that he didn't intend on riding the hot hand, but obviously he's changed his mind.

Mason, who has consistently performed at a below average level for an NHL starter, has three years and $12.3 million remaining on the lucrative extension he signed this past spring.
