VIDEO: Red Wings' Datsyuk shows off his old tricks in win over Capitals

Geoff Burke / USA TODAY Sports

Sometimes, Pavel Datsyuk does things that simply don't seem possible.

To wit, with Wednesday's game against the Capitals tied at two in the third period, the dynamic Red Wings center entered the Washington zone with a plethora of red jerseys in the immediate area.

Yet somehow, he knew Justin Abdelkader was trailing somewhere behind, deftly dropping a pass back to set up the game-winning goal

With his team on the power play with under a minute to go in the match, Datsyuk sealed it by squeezing the puck over Braden Holtby's left shoulder.

The two points give Datsyuk a total of five in four games this season (two goals, three assists), and he demonstrated once again that literally anything can happen anytime the puck finds its way onto his stick.

They don't call him the Magic Man for nothing.
