NHL Game Summary - Buffalo at Toronto

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Jonathan Bernier stopped all 10 shots fired his way to lead the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 4-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

Tyler Bozak and Phil Kessel each had a goal and an assist, James van Riemsdyk and Jake Gardiner also scored and Morgan Rielly supplied two helpers for the Maple Leafs, who have won two of their last three games.

"Our expectation is to carry this on to the next one," Toronto head coach Randy Carlyle said of the win. "Tonight, everything fell our way and we'll take it because we were in drastic need of a performance at home."

Michael Neuvirth stopped 33-of-37 shots for Buffalo, which fell to 2-8-0 on the season.

"We had nothing. Toronto had everything going," Sabres coach Ted Nolan said.

Toronto opened the scoring with 50 seconds left in the second period. Bozak took a pass from Kessel in the neutral zone and wristed a shot past Neuvirth from the left circle.

The Maple Leafs peppered Neuvirth with shots and held a 29-8 advantage heading into the final frame.

Kessel banked a shot off Neuvirth's pads and into net from behind the cage 4:18 into the third for a 2-0 lead.

Toronto added to its lead a minute later. Rielly sent a cross-ice pass to van Riemsdyk, who got behind the defense one-timed the shot in from the right side of the net.

Gardiner scored on the wraparound to account for the final score with 10:43 to play.
