Leon Draisaitl: Will Remain with Oilers

Draisaitl will remain with the Oilers for the rest of the season, Derek Van Diest of the Edmonton Sun reports.

Analysis:

The Oilers' nine-game window to determine whether to keep Draisaitl or send him back to his WHL team concluded Monday, and it appears the 19-year-old did just enough to warrant a permanent stay. After a rough showing in his first handful of NHL games, Draisaitl supplied a goal, assist and seven shots on goal over his last three contests, flashing the playmaking potential that the Oilers had salivated over during the pre-draft process. Expect Draisaitl to deal with some extended scoring droughts in his rookie season as he adjusts to life in the NHL, but he has the look of a keeper in dynasty formats.
