The Department of Player Safety has since confirmed the news.
Scott had a hearing on Monday afternoon to discuss a possible suspension for leaving the players' bench during a legal line change for the purpose of starting an altercation with Tim Jackman of the Anaheim Ducks.
Ultimately the league found that this was a violation of rule 70.2, which "prohibits a player from starting an altercation immediately upon leaving the bench for a legal line change."
