Colorado Avalanche (2-4-2) at Winnipeg Jets (2-5-0), 3 p.m. (ET)

(SportsNetwork.com) - Jarome Iginla and the Colorado Avalanche got their offense going last time out and hope to keep the production coming on Sunday afternoon against the Winnipeg Jets.

Iginla scored his first two goals with the Avalanche since joining the club as a free agent while adding an assist in Friday's 7-3 victory over Vancouver. Matt Duchene added a goal and two assists, while defenseman Tyson Barrie had three helpers.

Erik Johnson finished with a goal and an assist from the blue line, while Jamie McGinn, Daniel Briere and Gabriel Landeskog had goals to help snap Colorado's four-game slide (0-2-2).

It was a welcomed output as Colorado netted more than three goals in a game for the first time this season.

"We've had some adversity this year and thought we were well-equipped to handle it," said Duchene. "While this has been going on, our habits have been good. We knew the goals would start coming and now we hope the floodgates will stay open."

Semyon Varlamov returned after missing three games with a groin injury and stopped 26 shots for his first win of the season.

Colorado will try to make it two wins in a row today against a Winnipeg club that is 1-3-0 on a five-game homestand and has lost five of six overall.

The Jets lost a 4-2 decision to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday, with Bryan Little and Blake Wheeler scoring. Little's goal came on the power play, snapping Winnipeg's 0-for-22 drought on the man advantage to begin the season.

Tobias Enstrom picked up two assists but Ondrej Pavelec surrendered all four goals on just 18 shots through two periods in defeat. Michael Hutchinson stopped all nine shots he faced in relief.

"It's just back-breaking some of those moments in the game, we just can't escape from it seems like, and we just give up too good of a look, and it's in our net, and that's on us," Wheeler said. "We need to do a better job of trying to keep them on the outside, and when they do get opportunities, bear down in front of our net and let our goalie see the puck."

Winnipeg can't afford to give up too many goals as it has not netted more than three itself in a game since a 6-2 win over Arizona on Oct. 9 to begin the season.

Each of the last four meetings between the Jets and Avs have gone past regulation, with the clubs getting two wins each.
