VIDEO: Predators' Ribeiro scores on Coyotes, enjoying fresh start

The Nashville Predators' Mike Ribeiro took a bite out of his old team in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout victory over the Arizona Coyotes.

The center scored in the first period on a nice little give-and-go with defenseman Ryan Ellis.

Ribeiro, whose contract was bought out by the Coyotes this past summer, appears to be relishing his new opportunity with the Predators.

"(Nashville's) been great," Ribeiro said before the game, according to Sarah McLellan of azcentral. "Guys are supportive of me and the team, and it starts with the top of the organization and going down to the teammates. It's been great to come to the rink and work and really focus on my job."

Ribeiro said he appreciated his relationship with Coyotes head coach Dave Tippett; general manager Don Maloney, not so much.

"I think Dave was always supportive of me and even when they went to get me, I think it was more Dave than Maloney," Ribeiro said. "I don't think Maloney was ever a big fan. But I think Dave was, and I think we have a great friendship and he was supportive afterwards trying to help me. I think we have a great relationship."

In six games this season, Ribeiro scored three goals and added two assists.
