NHL Game Summary - Tampa Bay at Calgary

Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - Ondrej Palat scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Calgary Flames 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Valtteri Filppula tied the game with 2:16 left in regulation and Palat's tally came three minutes into overtime.

Anton Stralman drove a right point slap shot on net and Palat lifted his backhand past Karri Ramo for the deciding marker.

Evgeni Nabakov made 21 saves for the Lightning, who improved to 4-2-1 so far on the young season.

The third-overall pick in 2013, Jonathan Drouin, notched an assist for his first career point in his second game.

Dennis Wideman scored the lone goal for Calgary, which was coming off a 4-2 road trip. Rammo stopped 20 shots in defeat.

The game was scoreless through the first two periods until Johnny Gaudreau knifed through the middle of the ice and dished to his right to Wideman, whose one-timer found the back of the net on a power play 1:12 into the third.

"Johnny basically drew everyone in the rink to him," Wideman said.

A few minutes after Steven Stamkos hit the post on a shot in close, Filppula put home a rebound to knot the game at 1-1.

"For 58 minutes we didn't make Rammo make a second save," Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said.
