Lightning's Evgeni Nabokov will start Tuesday vs. Flames

Kim Klement / USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Lightning are set to play the second of back-to-back games on Tuesday night when they face the Calgary Flames. Wisely, Lightning coach Jon Cooper has elected to give regular starter Ben Bishop, who was in net during Tampa Bay's 3-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Monday, the night off.

In Bishop's place, Lightning backup Evgeni Nabokov, 39, will get his second start of the season, according to Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune.

In his first appearance of the year, Nabokov managed to stop 23 of 25 shots faced in a narrow loss against the New Jersey Devils. The Lightning will require Nabokov to replicate that level of performance against a plucky Flames side that has managed to win three of its previous four contests.
