Ryan Callahan: (Lower Body) Considered 'Week-To-Week'

Coach Jon Cooper said Tuesday that the Lightning are viewing Callahan's lower-body injury as a week-to-week concern, Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Cooper did acknowledge that if Callahan shows positive progress in the next couple of days, he could receive an upgrade to "day-to-day" status, but for now, the Bolts appear to be proceeding with the idea that the forward will be out for multiple games. Callahan has never been a high-end fantasy asset with only one 50-point season on his resume, but he had been one of Tampa's top producers through the team's first six games, tallying three goals and two assists. Tyler Johnson is expected to get the first crack at filling in for Callahan on the Steven Stamkos-Ondrej Palat line.
