Jeff Skinner: (Concussion) Activated From IR

Skinner (concussion) was activated from injured reserve Friday, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.

Analysis:

Although Skinner was unable to return to action Thursday as the Hurricanes had hoped, it appears that with a few practices over the weekend, he'll make his season debut in the team's next game on Oct. 21 versus Winnipeg. Skinner skated on the second line with Victor Rask and Elias Lindholm at Friday's practice, and it appears he'll stick there once the Hurricanes resume play. His return should be a welcome development for a scoring-starved Hurricanes squad that had already been playing without both Staal brothers.
