Oilers recall Marincin, send Nurse back to OHL in blue line shakeup

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

In an attempt to shake things up on the team's blue line, the Edmonton Oilers recalled Martin Marincin - as expected - from the AHL's Oklahoma City Barons, while sending Darnell Nurse back to Sault Ste. Marie of the OHL

The moves were announced on the team's Twitter page.

Marincin, a second-round pick from the 2010 Draft, appeared in 44 games for the Oilers last season, recording six assists, 16 penalty minutes and a minus-two rating.

Nurse, the Oilers' first-round pick in 2013, failed to record a point in his first two NHL games, and, at 19, appears in need of additional development at the junior level.

The 0-3-1 Oilers, with the NHL's worst goal differential (minus-12), play host to the Vancouver Canucks on Friday, likely with Marincin in the lineup.
