Islanders activate de Haan off injured reserve, send Reinhart to AHL

The New York Islanders announced the activation of defenseman Calvin de Haan off injured reserve while subsequently sending fellow blue liner Griffin Reinhart to AHL Bridgeport, according to Arthur Staple of Newsday.

de Haan, sidelined with an upper-body injury to begin the season, recorded three goals and 13 assists in 51 games for the Islanders last season.

Reinhart appeared in three games for the Islanders this season - all wins - and failed to record a point with a minus-one rating in 14:23 of ice time.

Both defensemen are seen as key pieces for the club moving forward, with the latter needing a bit more seasoning in the minors.
