Fehr centered a line with Jason Chimera and Joel Ward during Wednesday's practice, Alex Prewitt of The Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

Fehr had been playing on the top line alongside Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom, sporting an assist and five shots in three games. But in the wake of Tuesday's 6-5 shootout loss to San Jose, head coach Barry Trotz is trying new lines at practice today. Fehr spent much of last season centering Chimera and Ward on what was, on some nights, Washington's best line, so it shouldn't be a difficult transition for Fehr. However, his fantasy value takes a significant hit not playing with Ovechkin and Backstrom.
