NHL Game Summary - Winnipeg at San Jose

San Jose, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Stalock turned away all 30 shots he faced to lead the San Jose Sharks in a 3-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.

Patrick Marleau had a goal and an assist and Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Tomas Hertl also scored for the Sharks, who opened their season on Wednesday with a 4-0 win over Los Angeles.

"We feel confident," Marleau said. "I think we need to funnel some more pucks to the net and get some ugly goals."

Ondrej Pavelec allowed all three goals on 26 shots for the Jets, who posted a 6-2 win over Arizona in Thursday's season opener.

"There was some frustration that got built over the first 30 minutes, but we can't spend so much time in the penalty box," Jets head coach Paul Maurice said of the third period.

It took just 3:22 for San Jose to get on the board as Vlasic scored his first of the year on a wrister.

Less than two minutes later, the Sharks made it a 2-0 game as Joe Thornton sent a short pass up the middle to spring Hertl, who beat Pavelec on the short side.

The only goal of the second period came with just 29 seconds to play as Marleau notched his second of the year to give the Sharks a 3-0 lead.

San Jose didn't record a single shot in the third period, but it didn't matter as Stalock was on his game, turning aside all 14 shots he faced for his third career shutout.
