VIDEO: Islanders' Cory Conacher buries Tavares feed in preseason action
Former Ottawa Senators castoff and current New York Islanders hopeful Cory Conacher received a tryout for one of the best jobs in hockey on Tuesday, playing alongside John Tavares and Kyle Okposo on the Islanders' top line.
In the second period, Conacher put an exclamation point on his big opportunity with this sick finish off a lovely Tavares feed:

Skating mostly with Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamoks during his rookie season, Conacher managed 24 points in 35 games before being shipped to Ottawa in a lopsided exchange that brought goaltender Ben Bishop to Tampa Bay. So he's shown that he can produce offense alongside star players.
Will his history and his solid early chemistry with Tavares be enough to win the coveted left wing job with the Islanders to start the season?
