Report: Stars, RFA Brenden Dillon 'still far apart' in contract talks
The Dallas Stars managed to get two-way center Cody Eakin under contract this week, but with just 10 days to go before their regular season opener, the club is still without their best defensive defender Brenden Dillon.
Though Dillon's camp and the Stars continue to work towards a new contract agreement, progress has apparently been slow:

Dillon, 23, is currently spending time in Vancouver, B.C. skating with the WHL's Vancouver Giants and fellow unsigned RFA Ryan Johansen. Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2011, Dillon has blossomed into a bona fide top-pairing quality defensman and was arguably the Stars' best all-around blue-liner last season.
