Analysis:

Though he's slated to miss fairly significant time, the Sabres were worried Kaleta might have sustained a broken jaw, which would have kept him out as long as three months. The X-rays Kaleta received on Monday didn't reveal anything quite that severe, but he'll still have to wait almost a full season before returning to NHL action, after he missed nearly all of last season following an ACL tear. Once healthy, Kaleta will merit consideration for a role on the team's fourth line.
