It looks like the Red Wings avoided another serious preseason injury, as Nyquist expects to skate within the next few days, and is not in danger of missing the start of the regular season. Nyquist had a breakout year in 2013-14, racking up 28 goals and 20 assists in 57 games, and will be expected to fill part of the scoring void left by the injured Pavel Datsyuk (shoulder) to start the season.
