VIDEO: Sabres' Grigorenko shows off impressive skills with preseason goals vs. Maple Leafs

Fair or not, Buffalo Sabres forward Mikhail Grigorenko can't shake the "enigmatic" tag seemingly reserved for NHL players hailing from his native Russia.

During Sunday's preseason game in Toronto, however, Grigorenko showed off a skill set that made it seem as though the Sabres got a steal by selecting him 12th overall in the 2012 NHL Draft.

The 20-year-old streaked into the zone with Cody Hodgson, batted a saucer pass out of midair and deftly fired the puck past goaltender Jonathan Bernier.

He later added this Forsbergian goal in the shootout.

Grigorenko bounced from the NHL to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League to the American Hockey League last season, and could be in line for regular ice time with the big club in 2014-15, especially if he keeps doing things like this.
