Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty is ready to enter the team's preseason lineup.

Doughty was cleared to play after missing the start of training camp with an upper-body injury.

Head coach Darryl Sutter stated Doughty "could have played (Sunday)" against the Anaheim Ducks, as per Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times. His preseason debut is expected to be made Tuesday in San Jose.

Doughty scored 10 goals and added 27 assists last season, elevating his already stellar game at the Winter Olympics and during the Kings' run to a Stanley Cup victory.
