Devils release Mike Komisarek from professional tryout

The New Jersey Devils have released a big name defender from his professional tryout with the club:

The 32-year-old stay-at-home defender is a former US Olympian, but his effectiveness at the NHL level has been in decline for several years now. In two preseason appearances with the Devils he logged roughly 30 minutes of time on ice, finishing a -2. In those 30 minutes he was victimized on a memorably ghastly goal against scored by Rangers forward Jesper Fast:
