Hurricanes add LaRose to training camp roster on tryout basis

Chad LaRose's road back to the NHL took a big step Saturday.
General manager Ron Francis announced that the team added the forward to the training camp roster on a professional tryout.
LaRose sat out all of last season after seven years with the Hurricanes' organization. He signed a minor-league contract with the club this past offseason, and appears set to battle it out for a spot on the regular season roster.
In 508 career games, LaRose has 85 goals and 95 assists.
