NHL Game Summary - New Jersey at NY Rangers

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Adam Henrique's goal with 52 seconds left in regulation lifted the New Jersey Devils to a 5-4 win over the New York Rangers in the preseason opener for both teams at Madison Square Garden.

Michael Ryder tallied twice and added an assist for the Devils, who bounced back after letting in a pair of scores in the final five minutes that brought the Rangers back from a 4-2 deficit. Henrique, Eric Gelinas and Reid Boucher each finished with a goal and an assist.

Chris Kreider pulled New York within 4-3 with five minutes left in the third period, with Jesper Fast netting the equalizer with 2:30 remaining.

Carl Hagelin and Ryan Malone also lit the lamp for the Rangers. Cam Talbot stopped 16-of-19 shots in relief of Henrik Lundqvist, who allowed a pair of first-period goals and finished with 11 saves.
