Kimmo Timonen is not ready to hang up the skates just yet

General manager Ron Hextall announced Thursday the Flyers are "without a definitive" answer regarding Timonen's playing future, but he will continue to work toward improving his health after being diagnosed with blood clots on his lungs and right leg in August.

Timonen admitted the chances of him playing are "really slim," and that he won't be with the Flyers for "many months."

"We will have to wait and see," he explained, adding he will be re-evaluated next year.

Whether or not he's healthy enough to return, Timonen said this year will be his last.

The 39-year-old is currently taking blood thinners and, as he explained, cannot play hockey while on the medication.
