Ryane Clowe 'on track' to be with Devils for start of training camp

Ryan Clowe has just a few more hurdles to climb in his crusade back to NHL ice.

The New Jersey Devils forward, who was limited to just 43 games due to head injuries last season, has been examined by neurologists throughout the summer months and is prepared to make one last visit Tuesday before training camp gets underway this week.

If the assessments continue to go well, and Clowe passes his physical with the Devils' medical team, general manager Lou Lamoriello expects the 32-year-old winger to be cleared for the 2013-14 season.

"Right now everything is on track for him to be at camp," Lamoriello said via the Bergen Record.

"He’s going through all the tests that he has to right now. At this point, everything has been very positive."

Clowe has been skating with teammates at informal workouts leading up to training camp and has not experienced any setbacks.

He suffered his third concussion in less than a calendar year on March 31, ending his first season with the Devils.
