Capitals' Tom Wilson cleared to skate after surgery on fractured fibula
Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson has been cleared to skate after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured left fibula in early July, according to the Washington Post.
Wilson suffered the injury in a fall, the details of which have not been revealed.
New head coach Barry Trotz is confident the 20-year-old will work hard to impress at training camp.
“I talked to him the other day,” Trotz said. “He’s feeling good. He knows he’s a little bit behind the eight ball, but he’s got it ramped up pretty good. I think he’s pretty determined to get back as quick as possible.”
In 82 games last season, Wilson scored three goals, added seven assists and registered 151 penalty minutes.
