Svedberg is in line to serve as the backup to Tuukka Rask this season, CSNNE.com's Joe Haggerty reports.

Analysis:

While Svedberg will technically have to compete with Malcolm Subban for the No. 2 gig, Svedberg is virtually assured of winning the role by virtue of the one-way contract he signed earlier in the summer. Though Rask figures to assume the overwhelming majority of the starts for the Bruins, previous understudies Anton Khudobin and Chad Johnson both delivered impressive numbers when called upon to play the last two seasons, thanks in large part to an impressive supporting cast. The Bruins should remain one of the NHL's strongest all-around teams on both ends of the ice in 2014-15, thereby giving Svedberg an uptick in value in fantasy leagues that start multiple goalies and allow daily roster moves.
