Rangers, John Moore agree on 1-year contract worth reported $850,500

Defenseman John Moore agreed to a one-year, $850,500 contract with the New York Rangers on Wednesday, his agent Don Meehan told Larry Brooks of the New York Post.

Brooks further reports the contract is equal to the qualifying offer extended by the club back in June, meaning Moore will be eligible for arbitration next summer.

Moore, 23, appeared in 74 games for the Rangers last season, registering four goals, 11 assists and 115 shots on goal; his 51.7 5-on-5 Corsi For rating was good for third among the team's defensemen. He's expected to take on a bigger role in New York moving forward, especially in light of Anton Stralman's departure.
