Though Ericsson acknowledged Wednesday that he's not 100 percent recovered from Mar. 19 surgery on his finger, he expects to be ready for the Red Wings' regular-season opener, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.

Analysis:

The Red Wings will more than likely proceed slowly with Ericsson during training camp, but for the time being, there seems to be little doubt that he'll be on the ice for Game 1. After he was limited to 48 games during an injury-plagued 2013-14 season, Ericsson will look for better health during the upcoming campaign. Ericsson joins Niklas Kronwall on the team's top pairing, but his historically meager offensive productive makes him the far less viable fantasy option of the two players.
