Hurricanes general manager Ron Francis has indicated that he expects Semin (wrist) will be ready to go for training camp, NHL.com reports.

Analysis:

There was speculation about a month ago that Semin hit a wall in his recovery from offseason wrist surgery, but the winger has apparently experienced no lingering issues to this point. After signing a five-year, $35 million extension prior to last season, Semin's 22 goals and 20 assists in 65 games qualified as a disappointment. He'll probably need to get back to producing around 60 points per season in order to justify the Hurricanes' huge financial outlay.
