Rinne says his hip "feels normal" after undergoing surgery last season, Josh Cooper of The Tennessean reports. "I worked hard and stayed healthy [this summer]", Rinne said. "I'm just really excited for this upcoming season. I feel like I'm ready to go."

Analysis:

Rinne will be looking to bounce back after his surgery caused him to miss nearly four months of playing time last season. Once he returned to the lineup in March, he went just 6-6-2 down the stretch and finished with a 2.77 GAA and .902 save percentage while splitting time with backup Carter Hutton. This season, a healthy Rinne will surely be given the chance to earn back his undisputed No. 1 status. However if he falters, the Preds will likely not hesitate to turn to Hutton who they signed to a two-year contract in June.
