VIDEO: Red Wings' DeKeyser takes flight with the Blue Angels

As Detroit Red Wings forward Danny DeKesyer continues to work towards a new contract with the club, he took to the air in a 40-minute flight on a Blue Angels F/A-18 Hornet jet on Tuesday.

"You don't really get an opportunity to do something like this too often, so I figured why not?" DeKeyser said, per MLive's Ansar Khan. "I didn't do anything to prepare. They put you through a little tutorial before and kind of tell you how to tighten your legs, and you got to squeeze certain muscles so you don't pass out. You just got to do it to know what it feels like."

Thankfully, there's video evidence, so we can all vicariously experience the flight, and enjoy DeKeyser's facial expressions in the process.

"It was awesome," he said after the flight, during which the jet reached speeds of up to 1,400 miles per hour. "I'm still feeling a little woozy right now. I've never experienced anything like that."

With that in the past, the 24-year-old is no doubt hoping to reach new heights with the Wings, once he signs that new contract.
