Flyer's Ryan White has surgery to repair injured pectoralis muscle

Philadelphia Flyers forward Ryan White, who was signed to a one-year, two-way contract this summer, has undergone a successful surgical procedure to repair his left pectoralis muscle, which he injured while working out last week.

"His surgery was performed yesterday by Dr. Gerry Williams at Methodist hospital," Flyers general manager Ron Hextall said in a team release. "The injury occurred during an off ice workout in Brandon, Manitoba last week. There has been no time table established on Ryan's return."

Though White was probably a long-shot to break camp with the Flyers, his loss does impact Philadelphia's forward depth. It's certainly possible that the club might feel his absence, particularly if third-line center Sean Couturier finds himself limited at training camp due to a multitude of off-season injuries
