As training camp approaches, the Winnipeg Jets remain committed to resting their chances of competing in the NHL's Western Conference on the shoulders of goaltender Ondrej Pavelec.

According to his agent, Allan Walsh, the 26-year-old will enter a new season in the best shape of his career, telling Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press, "[Pavelec] has totally changed his body."

Pavelec, listed at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, certainly needs to do all he can to improve his game after posting a career save percentage of .906 in 288 appearances for the Thrashers-turned-Jets, and ranking 45th in the league in 2013-14 with a mark of .901.

If his new-found physique doesn't improve his game early on, it may open the door for 24-year-old Michael Hutchinson, who sparkled for the Jets (.943 save percentage) in his first three NHL appearances last season.
