Rangers, Danny Kristo agree to terms on new contract

Ed Mulholland / USA TODAY Sports

The New York Rangers announced Thursday that the club has agreed to terms with restricted free agent Danny Kristo.

Kristo, drafted 56th overall at the 2008 NHL Draft, appeared in 65 games for the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack this past season, recording 25 goals and 18 assists. He led the team - and tied for seventh among AHL rookies - in goals, tied for second on the team in power-play goals (seven), ranked third in points and finished fifth in shots on goal (146).

The 24-year-old was acquired from the Montreal Canadiens on July 2, 2013, and will battle for a bottom-six role among the Rangers' forward ranks at training camp next month.

Terms of the deal have not yet been announced.
