Report: Jordin Tootoo clears waivers; will be bought out by Red Wings

Jordin Tootoo cleared waivers Thursday the Detroit Red Wings will use a compliance buyout on the remainder of his contract, as per Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.

Tootoo spent parts of two seasons in Detroit, recording three goals, six assists and 83 penalty minutes in 53 games with the Red Wings.

After the remaining $1.9-million on his contract is bought out, Tootoo will be free to sign with any team around the League on July 1.
