Report: Penguins to interview Ron Wilson for head coaching job

After being a finalist in the Florida Panthers' ongoing search for a new head coach, Ron Wilson is also reportedly being considered for a slightly higher-profile gig.

Wilson has a decorated coaching resume that includes both domestic and international success, but he was essentially exiled after a miserable stint behind the Toronto Maple Leafs' bench.

In 18 NHL seasons with the Anaheim Ducks, Washington Capitals, San Jose Sharks and Maple Leafs, Wilson compiled a 648-561-101-91 record, and made the postseason nine times, appearing in one Stanley Cup Final.

The news further supports the NHL's tendency to recycle from within. Marc Crawford, also a finalist in Florida, will interview in Pittsburgh with hopes of replacing Dan Bylsma, whose been linked to Florida after being fired by the Penguins.
