Islanders' Casey Cizikas: Six weeks from full health

Cizikas suggested Monday that he would require six more weeks for a full recovery from finger surgery, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Analysis:

Essentially, Cizikas wouldn't have been a factor in the postseason even if the club made it. Now that the Isles are eliminated, he can reveal the true nature of his injury. The 26-year-old forward finished 2016-17 with 25 points (eight goals, 17 assists), not enough to put him on rosters in the majority of fantasy leagues. Still, the Islanders have to be pleased with what they've received from their fourth-round pick in the 2009 NHL entry draft after they locked him up on a five-year contract prior to the season. He should be good to go for the start of 2017-18.
