Lightning's Gabriel Dumont: Clears waivers
Dumont cleared waivers Monday and was reassigned to AHL Syracuse, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis:
In order to get Dumont some extra time in the minors, the Lightning were required to waive him after he logged 39 games this season. Fortunately for the team, the 26-year-old tallied just two goals and a pair of helpers this year, so the rest of the league wasn't too eager to snatch him up. The center averaged a mere 9:40 of ice time, which likely factored into Tampa Bay's decision to send him down to the Crunch in order to get some more playing time before the summer break.
