Capitals' Braden Holtby: Peppered in Friday's road loss
Holtby allowed six goals on 25 shots in Friday's 6-3 loss against the Coyotes.
Analysis:
Holtby was lifted with 6:48 left in the first period after allowing three goals. Philipp Grubauer replaced him and did not face any shots. Head coach Barry Trotz went back to Holtby to start the second period in what was a surprisingly disastrous performance against an Arizona team ranking 29th in the NHL in goal differential. Holtby entered 3-0-0 with a 1.31 GAA and .950 save percentage in his three previous starts against the Coyotes.
