Avalanche's Calvin Pickard: Beat Blues in shootout

Pickard allowed just one goal on 28 shots in a 2-1 shootout victory against the Blues on Friday.

Analysis:

The 24-year-old avoided adding any more losses to his league-leading 28, but just barely, as Colorado mustered very little offense against goaltender Jake Allen and won in the shootout. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for Pickard, and in all five of those games, he yielded at least three goals. One strong Friday night doesn't elevate Pickard to fantasy relevancy.
