Lack (neck) is feeling better and is hoping to skate either Saturday or Sunday.

Analysis:

It sounds as though Lack and the rest of the Hurricanes' optimism is high concerning the goalie's potential return, but he will likely need to log multiple practices before he's given clearance to return to the lineup. As such, don't expect him to draw into the lineup for the weekend's games against the Stars and Penguins.
