Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Receives starting nod Thursday

Vasilevskiy will start in goal for Thursday's divisional matchup with Detroit, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Analysis:

After a five-game stretch in which he was absolutely lights out, going 4-0-1 with a 1.15 GAA and .964 save percentage, Vasilevskiy has allowed four goals in four of his last five outings. The single exception -- 29 saves on 30 shots en route to a victory -- came six days ago against the same Red Wings squad that he'll take on Thursday. Detroit sits 26th in the NHL in scoring and may be without 18-goal scorer Andreas Athanasiou (upper body) for this game.
