Capitals' Philipp Grubauer: Beats Avalanche on Wednesday
Grubauer allowed three goals on 35 shots in a 5-3 victory Wednesday over the Avalanche.
Analysis:
It was Grubauer's first start since way back on March 11, so this was a fairly solid performance for a guy who'd just spent the previous nine games on the bench. He's obviously a distant No. 2 to stud netminder Braden Holtby in D.C., but the German's .924 save percentage and 2.14 GAA have made him a useful asset this season as one of the league's best backups.
